Meet the Artist Painting Nature
Nature Is All Around Us In Fine Art Paintings and Drawings
A life shaped by landscapes, light, and the quiet company of nature
- Painting became the way I gathered those moments and made sense of them.
- It still is.
A Painter of Quiet Places
My florals and trees are small acts of noticing. My bird portraits are little character studies of the neighbours who share our gardens and hedgerows.
- Collectors often tell me my work feels calm, intimate, or quietly hopeful.
- I take that as the highest compliment.
A Journey in Colour and Resilience
Over the years, more than 300 of my paintings have found homes around the globe with collectors who connected with the same sense of stillness and warmth that I feel when I paint.
If you are interested in purchasing a painting or commissioning a custom piece, you can explore available works on my website or reach out to me directly through my contact page. I am always happy to discuss commission ideas and guide you through the simple process of choosing or creating artwork that speaks to you.
What Matters to Me
- Honesty in atmosphere — painting the mood of a place, not just its shape
- Quiet beauty — the kind that reveals itself slowly
- Connection — between artist and viewer, between people and place
- Nature as anchor — steady, grounding, endlessly generous

More Insights on the Artist
Rhia's artistic journey began in childhood, when she was captivated by the beauty of nature and inspired by her mother, a hobby artist.
Though she excelled in art throughout her school years, Rhia initially chose a career in accounting, a path she believed offered more stability.
Despite her professional life, her passion for art never faded. She returned to painting as a source of healing and renewal after a period of significant personal challenges.
A pivotal move to Kentucky and a thoughtful gift from her husband reignited her creative spark, leading her to begin selling her work.
Rhia's path then led her to explore different natural environments in Hawaii and Costa Rica, deepening her connection to the landscapes that inspire her art.
Now based in West Yorkshire with her husband and their Border Collie, Harvey, Rhia is a full-time artist whose work proves the transformative power of creativity.
Her enchanting paintings, which celebrate the quiet magic of nature, have found homes with collectors across the globe.
Her work has been shown internationally, including selection for the 2026 ArtWorks Together Festival, where her painting Red Road to Skye was displayed alongside works by other artists. In 2025, she was also chosen by the Visual Artists Association as one of the "100 most promising and visionary artists", highlighting the increasing recognition of her unique landscape style.
