A piece of art that I created featuring the majestic Red-Bellied Woodpecker from Falls of Rough, Kentucky. I am excited to share it with you and hope you will appreciate the intricate details and vibrant colours that bring this beautiful bird to life. These birds don't actually have red bellies but rather whitish ones, sometimes with a pinkish hue. Nonetheless, I enjoyed observing these birds at my porch feeder. I even managed to capture some photographs to use as a reference for my painting. 

I also tried to catch pictures of cardinals - beautiful red (male) birds; however, they did not cooperate. Therefore, I am not able to paint any of these birds now, although I would really like to do it. I love cardinals, hummingbirds, and tufted titmice, but my wildlife photographs are mostly useless for my realistic style. It looks like I am a better painter than a wildlife photographer. Sadly.
