As an artist, I was always drawn to the beauty of nature. And nothing could be more beautiful and fascinating than an owl. The way their eyes speak volumes, and their wingspan can take your breath away.
Living in Kentucky's woods, I was lucky to have had a few encounters with these magnificent birds. I would observe them, always one at a time, as they spent a day on a tree branch. Then, when I was quiet and calm, they would stay in the same spot the whole day. An impressive, beautiful sight of a resting owl!
Once, I even got scared when an enormous owl flew straight towards me in the dim twilight of the forest. The bird was probably frightened too because it vanished in an instant! It surprised me how silent owls fly! I did not hear or see the owl coming, but it was a memorable and fantastic encounter.
One day, I decided to paint an owl portrait. I wanted to capture the essence of these creatures and bring their beauty to life on a board. I spent hours researching, taking photographs, and sketching. I wanted to make sure that every detail was perfect.
Finally, I was ready to start. I chose a paper illustration board and professional-grade acrylics. I wanted to ensure that my painting would last for years. I started with the eyes, the most expressive part of the owl. As I painted, I could feel the bird's spirit come to life.
For days, I worked on the painting, adding layers of colour and texture. I wanted to ensure every feather was perfect and every detail was captured. And finally, after countless hours, the painting was finished.
The Owl Portrait is a one-of-a-kind, original painting, an acrylic artwork. It is a small but very detailed work in a realistic style inspired by the Impressionists. The painting is not framed, but it fits perfectly in a mat. The matted size is 25 x 20 x 0.4 cm, and it is ready to find a new home.
Looking at the painting, I can feel the owl's spirit looking back at me. I am proud of what I have accomplished. I have captured the beauty and essence of these magnificent creatures, and I know that my small painting will be cherished for years to come.
