I recently created an awe-inspiring artwork - Blue Mountain Landscape, Isle of Skye, Scotland! I'm so thrilled to have captured the beauty of this stunning scenery. And do you know what's even more amazing? I used coloured pencils to create this artwork! Yes, you heard that right. Coloured pencils! It's an absolute delight to use them, especially when I'm outdoors. I find working with them much easier compared to acrylics, and the outcome is stunning artwork that I can share with you.
Usually, I paint with acrylics, but they dry so fast outdoors that it's hard to keep up. With coloured pencils, I can create something extraordinary without worrying about drying times. I used Claire Fountain Pastel Mat for this artwork, which was perfect! The toothy paper held the colours so well, making the whole process absolutely joyful. It took me a while to find the right paper quality, but when I did, it was worth all the effort!
Blue Mountain, Isle of Skye Landscape is an original, realistic drawing.
- Materials: oil-based coloured pencils, "Polychromos" by Faber-Castell, Derwent Studio Pencils, varnish for drawings, a sheet of heavy specialist paper
- Style: Realism influenced by Impressionism
- Size: 35 x 25 x 0.2 cm; the artwork itself is 33 x 23 cm; this leads to a clean margin around the image as a preparation for a mounting mat
- This artwork is not framed.
- The second image only shows an example of how the drawing may look in a frame and on a wall.
