Historic View of the Demolished Ferrybridge Power Station, Knottingley by Pontefract is an original acrylic painting on paper.
In my acrylic painting, I’ve captured a historic view of the Power Station just before it was demolished in 2022. The foreground features expansive brown fields, which contrast beautifully with the vibrant green surroundings. The station rises prominently in the centre, its architecture reflecting a time gone by. In the background, you can spot a few quaint houses nestled among the trees, adding a sense of community to the scene. I aimed to convey both the power and the nostalgia of this landmark, giving viewers a glimpse into its past while surrounded by the beauty of nature and everyday life.
Materials: professional grade acrylics, acid-free, age-resistant Hahnemuele paper (450g per square meter, 210 lbs)
Size: the paper is 32 x 24 cm (12.6 x 9.4 inch), the painting is a bit smaller: 30.7 x 18 cm and is ready to be framed
Style: impressionistic
The artwork is not framed
The second and third images only show how the painting may look on a wall in a frame.
