Sketch of River Aire in North Yorkshire

I made a collection of small drawings of the River Aire in North Yorkshire. 

This particular place on the river I discovered entirely by chance. Driving from Skipton to Pontefract, we stopped at a very small parking place. From this area, we walked only a few yards, and the landscape had completely changed from a busy road to a peaceful countryside. I was overwhelmed.

This is the first artwork in the small collection of sketches. I aimed to capture its tranquil beauty. Using colored pencils, I portrayed a bright blue sky that mirrors in the river, where the azure reflections complete the harmonious picture. On the opposite side of the river, I illustrated a gentle green hill with a few charming houses situated on top. This sketch represents the tranquillity I experienced while admiring the scenery.

The artwork measures 27 x 14 cm (size of the paper); however, the work itself is smaller, 17 x 13 cm. In inches: 10.75" x 5.5" (6.75" x 5.25").

The artwork is not framed. The pictures in frames show only how the piece may look in a frame and on a wall.
