Spirit of the Outdoors, Blue Door, is an original pencil drawing inspired by the romantic abundance of flowers in my city's cottage gardens.
Galvanised by the vast outdoors, I discover many exciting places on the walks with my pet, Harvey. One day, we decided to venture out further than our usual route. The sun shone, and the birds sang as we walked along the winding path leading us to a place with gardens and small cottages.
There was also a small woodland. As we entered it, we were surrounded by tall trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, creating a magical atmosphere. Harvey was sniffing around, and I was admiring the beauty of the place when we stumbled upon a small clearing.
In the centre of the clearing was a cabin. It was a good-looking small house. There, something about it caught my attention. I was curious and decided to take a closer look. Harvey followed me as I approached the cabin.
I noticed a blue door overgrown with garden plants as I was close by. It was a beautiful sight, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of it. I made a small sketch, too, and we continued our walk.
Later that day, I went to my studio and started working on a drawing of the blue door. I used Bristol paper by Fabriano and professional-grade colour pencils "Polychromos" by Faber-Castell. I added a few strokes with acrylics and finished it with the final fixative for coloured pencil artwork. The drawing turned out to be a beautiful piece of art that reminds me of the magical woodland and the blue-door cottage.
From that day on, Harvey and I would often venture out further into the vast outdoors, discovering new and exciting places. The blue door remains a cherished memory, and the drawing serves as a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.
