As I sit here gazing at my painting, "Stillness, Sunset in Ponte, View from the Westen Avenue", memories come flooding back to me.
I remember the day I painted it so vividly like it was just yesterday. It was a warm summer evening, and the sun was just setting down. I had just finished work and decided to take a walk with Harvey, my pet, to clear my head.
As I strolled along Westen Avenue, I couldn't help but notice the stunning view of Pontefract in the distance. The sun's rays cast a warm glow on the distant town, and the sky was a beautiful blend of oranges, yellows, and purples. I knew I had to capture this moment through my art.
Harvey and I quickly ran back home; I grabbed my acrylic paints and acid-free paper card and hurried back to where I had been standing. As I began to paint, I felt a sense of peace and stillness.
The world around me seemed to disappear, and all that mattered was the artwork in front of me. Time passed, and before I knew it, the sun had set, and darkness had enveloped the town. Only a few streetlights were on, and some lights from distant houses were visible.
The sketch was finished, and I completed the painting in the studio the other day.
I knew I had created something special, something that captured the essence of that moment in time. And that's how "Stillness, Sunset in Ponte, View from the Westen Avenue" was born.
Now, every time I look at my painting, I am transported back to that warm summer evening. And I am reminded that sometimes, the simplest moments in life can bring us the most joy and peace.
